I got this great question asked to me Saturday.
“if you are against socials, why do you blog? since blogging is sociall?”
Now this is true blogging, or at least blogging for your readers = social. But there is more to blogging, or at least my blogging.
There is a quite simple explanation that is important enough for me to write about:
If I blog, and I have about 1000 readers a day. (250 over feed, 750 visiting the site) that are a possible 1000 people that will shed from the social and leeching life. with every post I write, I have a chance to make the group of sheep (M&S) smaller. which that I’m actually not paying for them anymore.
To make my ramble a bit clear, I blog to stop the social, sheepish and M&S movement. I blog so “Goblins” can make gold over the sheep’s back. I blog in the hope that somebody, anybody, sees the error in their non-employed life. etc etc.
Seth, leeching the sheeps since 1988.
Don’t let the Sheep cost you, make money on them! Shed your sheepskin and join the Wolfpack of Goblins, read One-copper.com!
omg… I’m really going to stop here, Fever ain’t good for writing.

I’m going to take Belgium as an example in the post.
Belgium inforces the idea that everyone has a right on money and a good life. Of course this is true everyone has the right, but in my humble opinion everybody also has the obligation to create that life for themselfs.
Belgium is one of the few countries that has such a “strong” system in welfare. Not only do people that don’t work get payed for doing nothing, if they go to the OCMW (helpcenter) they can get free food and housing.
It doesn’t even matter if you are Belgian or not, are you illegal in the country sir? Well lucky you! You’ll have an easier time getting all the free stuff!
The same goes if you are sick, if you are sick you are paid for staying home. A doctors appointment costs 22Euro. And you get back 20Euro from the welfare center. If you have a handicap you’ll get free food, free money, free housing and ofcourse somebody to take care of you… who pays for all that? WE DO. The working class does. Same goes for people of 65 and older, they get pension and continue to receive money untill they leave this world. We the working class again pay for everything.
How could we change all this?
The following can seem rude, but this is the only way to actually continue to grow in the economical way.
- kick illegals out of the country
- before moving to Belgium, use the Austrialan concept. You wan’t to live here? why? what can you do to help Belgium?
- are you 65 and do you stop working? Good, if you have worked for 40years you really should have saved money in that time so use that for the remaining years. (a pension saving plan here in belgium can get you upto 300 000EURO on the day you retire!)
- so on and so on.
I’m actually already going to stop here since I4m still sick in bed. Yes I am being payed right now to stay here in bed, and I feel dirty to get that money. I’m not doing anything usefull why should I get payed?
Any idea’s you guys have to shed ourselfs from the welfare system. (either in your or my country) let a comment and discuss

I just came from the doctor and I havethe flue, meaning that I spend 20h in bed a day.
Now this was important enough to post though.
Gevlon Is saying goodbye to moneymaking in WoW.
Well not entirely but still. The blog has shifted it’s money making and goblin thoughts towards his new interests. This comes close to what I said yesterday, the owner of the blog does what he wants with it. I respect Gevlon for his thoughts and wisdom and will respect his choice for this change, As I hope will you.
I’m having crazy thoughts though that will be clear next week. (maybe)

As said on the twitter, yesterday’s post is deleted.
Thank you all for the comments, both good and bad.
The post was a piece of the first draft of the author. the book is called “knowledge” and will be available for purchase end 2010.
Why did I post it?
For the reactions tbh. I knew someone would diss it just because it wasn’t WoW related, I knew someone would diss it cause of the errors in it, and I knew somebody would like it.
The huh? comment though (by huh?) was my favorite.
For the guy who said that this wasn’t wow related and shouldn’t be on the blog this is my awnser:
This is MY blog, and I pay for it… I can post any goddamn thing I want. If I would change this site into a Eve site, I’m very sorry but I could. so This does belong here, and just for 2 reasons: 1: I wanted it to be here and 2, somebody enjoyed reading it!
It’s also pretty clear that some people just like breaking down articles/posts/excerpts. without posting reasons. now I know for example that meegz is just a troll, so it was also informative for me.
I also got to know how much people value grammar. etc etc.
the biggest reason however was the following:
I wanted to know how many people would continue reading through a “bullshit” post. with other words, posts that actually didn’t help anybody or was informative to the readers. (as this is a WoW centered blog, a book excerpt is pretty useless info)
I saw that I better just post a bullshit post then No post. Since my reader count actually went up on the feedburner and only dropped by 15% on the visits. (instead of half on the feedburner and more then 70% on the visits)
to make my train of thought make sense:
I just wanted to see if I could do this, without seriously damaging traffic.
PS: This lill experiment also has a Hidden value for me that I’m not going to explain here. I hope you’ll join me soon for actual WoW related posts.
I don’t know how soon though since I’m quite busy hanging my head above the toilet (sickness)

This post is for Eric, since I forgot to include this part in the previous tailoring post.
Eric wanted to know how to lvl through Tailoring while making a buck. So I’m going to awnser this through my own experience.
0-150 skill:
the first green pants you can make “brown linen pants” it gives almost nothing but every cloth wearer wants to overcome the mana problem you have the first 15 lvls. Now this also includes the brown linen robe or white linen robe. Go and try it, I guarantee that they will sell for a gold a pop, about 5 times a week. (not much but at least it pays for all the mats you’ll have to buy later.
Spider silk boots and spider’s cape, both blue items, both twink items, both selling for 20-50G (depending on server) and both very hard to make. The mats for these are really hard to come buy and depending on your server it’s not worth it.
150-300
a couple of things in this range that can sell really fast:
- Azure silk hood (+8int) first green hat that you can wear as a clothy and it sells about 5 a day (on my server at least), if you can press down the mats cost, its also really good to dissenchant these. Or ofcourse sell them to a enchanter.
The silk shoulders used to be a bom! too, though with the lvling shoulders it has become a bit obsolete, I’m selling 1-2 of those each week, and dissenchant a 20ish of them. (if you are a enchanter these are really really good profit)
Felcloth set. Seriously, wow, these sell like candy on my server about a full set, 3 times a week. Again the mats are pretty hard to get. Fel cloth only drops on lvl55+ “evel beings” satyrs with other words.
Lastly the specialty bags, the warlock one and the enchanter one are easy to get. (buy the pattern in tanaris) and fairly easy mats. they sell for about 10G , cost to make: about 5g , about 3 times aweek for the enchanter and once or twice for the warlock.
300 and up
I’m up at 300 at my warlocks tailoring so I have no real personal experience here.
I would suggest bags from this point on and ofcourse the threads. netherweave and frostweave bags are selling nice so don’t forget to have a stockpile in your bank so you can sell them a couple of pieces at a time.
That was it for the Tailoring for today.
Now if you have questions that you would like to see awnsered in a post, just comment here and It will be awnsered. (or mail me if its something you don’t want anyone else to know)
If enough questions come in I’m making this in a weekly post.

comment I got:
if markco is the big bad wolf doing something for money, why do you ask for donations? if you really cared website expenses would come out of pocket, you are after all such a giving person that youre only looking out for your reader?
My awnser:
1 – I don’t go spamming your email adress, if you don’t donate you don’t donate. simple.
2 – This is an option. you DON’T have to pay for this site or blog or podcast (if I ever get myself to actually do that now eve is around)
3 – I’m actually honest… If you donate the money goes back in the site (or podcast or a forum or etc) I’m not going to lie and say you can win 3000dollar for linking me….
etc. etc.
So whats the difference? I’m not bugging you, I’m not mailing you, I’m not lying to you, I’m not even asking you to link me.
If you don’t want to see the donate button, scroll down. change the resolution, block it. You can choose NOT to see it and I won’t bug you about it.
Those are the differences.
Now back to work for me.

tbh I don’t know where to start…
ok well, go and read this.
That’s a post from the person who got me into blogging. And I was shocked.
It mentions Marco from JM2C.
Now I’m first going to tell my short story around this.
I started reading blogs around the start of 2009 (a bit later). I started with our goblin friend, and worked my way through his bloglist. At the start I really liked JM2C. Then his guide came out.
I said to myself ok no biggy he has a guide, just greed. Then came the banners next to his posts, Still i didn’t really care. The forums came out and I was a poster there. then a few months ago the adds started to form between, under and above his posts. That actually did it. It is one thing to have greed, but to disrespect your readers by cluttering up your blog is not my cup of tea.
By then I was blogging and doing the group therapy sessions (worth a read btw!) and I never asked Marco, because of the reason stated above. Granted I never asked Gevlon but that was because I was intimidated and well… you don’t ask Gevlon for 2 favors in a month’s time. ( The first was a link on his blog, which he accepted not because I asked but because it wasn’t terrible)
The last time I actually viewed his blog was a while back since I disagreed that I started a blog because of him (I started since I was scared Gevlon would leave the scene) That’s about a month back now and was the only time in about 3 months.
Now I kept my mouth shut, I didn’t mention him since tbh It wasn’t and still isn’t worth it.
Today I’m posting about it for two reasons:
1: he acted like a lill schoolgirl when Gevlon told the truth.
2: And this is the most important one: with that mail to Gevlon he lost the last bit of respect he had.
Asking to get a link and affiliate, nothing wrong with that, though very stupid.
But keep mailing and not taking no for an awnser is more stupid. And pathetic, wrong and “social”
> 1G plz!
- No
> PLZ?
- No
>plzzzzzz
- NO!
we see these kind of people ingame all the time…
Sadly enough we just found out one of them is hiding among uss…
Seriously… I support Gevlon to the fullest with this.
Your comments are your own thoughts ofcourse, and more then welcome as always.
oh and btw:

If you write a response… be man enough to actually keep it, and don’t delete it after an hour and 100 bashing comments.

Tailoring… tbh I never ever made it to 450 with tailoring I’m currently sitting up on 300 and waiting for my lvl48 warlock to get to 55 before I can start lvling it again. Now that doesn’t mean I’m completly retarted on the subject. (this is open for discussion though)
Ofcourse what we all know and love is the netherweave bags. Easy and fast profit for everyone around.
Another thing that sells really well are the “threads” fe. haste on the cloak if i’m remembering right.
Now I do know some things that sell slowly but do sell and which can give you a boost in profit.
The best example here is: the Kaluak’s herb bag. It’s the biggest one available and on all the servers I looked it goes for about 600gold while the mats are 300-400G. Bad thing about this is though that it sells really slow, about one each week and that you need some reputation with the Kaluak.
The best cooldown on cloth … whow … Frankly I have no idea, I went online and talked to my tailori though and he said that mooncloth-line is selling 2 to 3 times faster then the rest. And for a better price.
Tailors have a problem though, they don’t have something unique. The most profit needs to come from selling the cooldowns on the cloth, the bags (glacial has started selling well the last months) and the threads.
The occasional specialty bags give a good second income but not nearly enough to actually live on.
Sadly enough that’s all I have for tailors right now, so if you have some extra’s be sure to comment and I’ll put it in the post.
