I’m not trying to assert that your methodology isn’t earning gold. It clearly earns you plenty. It’s possible that the guy I referenced that’s crafting thousands of glyphs for 50 silver auction price is turning some profit. He’s just making gold very very slowly.
.
So 3% or 50Silver is “too slow” to make money?
let’s do some very very simple math:
I’m making it so simple I’m using a median price and set demand.
TOTAL glyphs sold a day: let’s say 100
normal profit: 10%
competitors: 5
asuming that 15G is the sellers price.
I’m selling for normal price (with other words: undercutting for one copper) 15gx100 : 5 = 1500: 5 = 300G sold
300G x 0.1 = 30G profit.
I’m selling at my profit (3%) – selling price stays the same, cost of making = higher – 15Gx100= 1500G x 0.03 = 45G
Since I’m the only one selling for such a low price, I’ll make more profit then selling at the normal price and competing.
Ofcourse the example herebove, can be flawed since I pulled up the costs in stead of lowering the price, but this gives a you all a good idea of what I mean.
If someone is selling ten pieces for 10G profit yes they make 50G. But I sell 100 pieces of 1G profit, which means I make 100G and the other guys is not going to sell anything.
A lower price and lower profit margin does NOT mean that my overal profit is lower, by having only a 3% profit margin I’m the only one selling and there by I’m raking in the money.
Why do you think that Colruyt fe. is making more money then a GB/Carrefour etc? since they sell the same stuff (exactly the same brands etc) for less money… which means more customers which means more profit…
I hope I made my point. And that you can see that having a lower margin of profit can give you better results in the end of the run.

I logged in for the first time in 2 weeks on WoW. and a couple of things happened.
First off I got about 20 to 25 whispers of old guildies and buddies of mine asking me what was wrong and if I would continue to play wow. I awnsered honestly and said I didn’t know. (I still don’t know tbh)
But more importantly the Auction house changed. Seriously it changed. The glyph market, epic/rare gems, armorkits, -350 enchanting. All the things I was a heavy seller in changed.
The price went up with 10 to 60(!!!) % when I posted all the ussual I was undercut an hour later. And I saw some newer AHplayers in the markets I used to control. I changed back to my old prices posted everything and as of this morning I’m still not undercut. Got 3 hate mails about me plummeting the price with 50% though.
It is weird on how the market can change with a big players absence, and how I can take it all back if I have a 2-3% profit margin instead of 25–50% as the rest wants.
They think that 2-3% profit isn’t worth the trouble, or they can’t make it as cheap as me. In either case, me taking back a market without any trouble. Is wrong, they still need to learn. 2-3% x1000times = better then 50% x 5 times… if they would know that, I would have competition and not just wals back in like nothing.
Anything like this happened to you? Anything you would like to add or say? let me know

Whoa… Never thought that so many people would do what I do, yesterday I asked what you guys would do, and most of you would (ofc like me) exploit “the sheep”.
A sheep you know in RL even… gave me a startle and a bit of hope is regained for the human race.
Now deep thoughts isn’t going to be a big thing this week, since WoW time = 0 for the last week I don’t have too much to say.
Later this week:
Tomorrow = The WAR post
Friday: Podcast + tip post
this Weekend: WoW midnight junky review
And a Question here:
If there is one thing you could change/better in the podcast: what would it be?
leave a comment and hopefully we’ll get it changed!

As a goblin I don’t mind overpricing my goods and getting an extra 100G for my merchandise. I don’t mind selling nets/bombs to people who can’t use them… I don’t care, give me your pixel money!
Yesterday a guy from work asked me how much I got a week selling stuff at the ah.. I told him 30K on a good week (total +/-5-10K profit) since I’m not doing it too much anymore. His jaw dropped, he is only making 50G a day 50G …. come on… I make that much just doing the daily dungeon …
I should take advantage from this guy and let him grind herbs for a low price. he gets money, I get profit, I’m happy, he’s happy….
What are your thoughts on this? Is it ok to be a jerk ingame? To be selfish and ninja that piece of loot? to just “walk over their corpse for that extra piece of gold”?
You should already know what my awnser is, but I would love to hear yours!

The weekend was crazy I went to Eurodisney with my gf and ppl from work It really is nice, if you have the time and money (cause its rather expensive in there) you should really go there, with kids that are at least 1m35
so they also can take the rollercoasters etc…
Eve… my secret lover… I’m subscribing at the end of my trial. It’s so much more complicated as WoW for a goblin, it’s also the perfect environment for a goblin. It’s going to be great! Don’t worry This is staying a WoW goldmaking website. Not going to change that, but Eve is something i had to mention. If you want a realy goldmaking challenge try it out, and do the 14day free trial, but thats the last thing I’m saying about eve on the blog.
