I’m back from my little holiday and oh boy I’m like, happy, I know right?
No but seriously, My short story is featured in EON magazine. I won their competition! When I heard the news yesterday I almost exploded, It’s been 4 months since my entry and I had classified it as another loss so it was really exciting to win! Although it doesn’t pay. I get a signed book and…. I GET PUBLISHED. Which means that about 20 thousand people are going to read it. That’s about 20 times more then my reader base on the blog.
The blog is getting to the 1 year mark, and maybe it’s time to admit defeat. To finish the B2B guide, and the “new” guide that is planned after it. And just let go. I really enjoy writing, but something… something.
On happier news: my resto Druid dinged 49 this weekend! and I got my first 10K back on my new banker. (up from 5K) Didn’t do anything else since my schedule was pretty tightly packed over my “vacation”.
oh well, glad to see you are still reading,
Grtz

Tags: AH, frozen orb, gold, tip
Europe got the patch yesterday! Sadly enough I didn’t have too much time to check it all out so I did the important stuff only. My warlock got 40K (!!) honor in marks, and my Shaman got 20x Frost lotus from the frozen orb trader…
And Gold twinkeled in my eyes!
first off let’s see what you can get with the frozen orbs:
Crusader Orb = 6 Frozen Orbs
Runed Orb = 4 Frozen Orbs
1 frozen orb = every eternal
1 frozen orb = Frost lotus
The price of these at my server are:
Frozen orb = 30ish gold
4 orb = 100G
6 orb = 160G
Eternals = 8-14G (depending on which)
Frost lotus = 35-50G
Now these are probably going to change a bit. Though dependent on the server, my guess is that the “higher quality” orbs, are going to fall down in price (25%ish) , the eternals will double in price for the first month then settle on 150% value and the frost lotus is going to drop 10% in price. That’s my prediction, but since we can’t look in the future I’m working with my current nrs.
Currently my Goldmaking tips are:
1: buy frozen orbs that are below 25 gold on AH.
2: trade them to frost lotus
3: sell those for 30-35 gold on the AH = profit
So as of this moment a frozen orb is worth 35Gold, this will change though, but then ofc I’ll let you know.
Great tip by Oxymustard:
Nice tip, I’d also like to give out a tip to your Alchemist readers. If you’re an alchemist or are still leveling you better hurry and make Potion Mastery your area of expertise. You sometimes make 4-5 flasks for the price of 2. With flask prices dwinling in the 25-30g area that could mean a 40-60g profit on a frost lotus + mats.

schizophrenia is a new biweekly or monthly post that tries to encourage discussion here on this blog, and on the blogsphere. If you have anything to say about the topic, leave a comment or put up a post on your own blog. (I’ll be glad to link it!)
To make a long story short, I had over 500 words already written, sadly enough pc crashed and well, yeah…
I hate being popular. I don’t mean the blog, seriously I love that you are reading this, still reading? Ok. I hate being popular on my server. Somebody found out I had over 100K and now it seems half the Alliance side is whispering my bankalt “gold pl0x”. Usually my answer is pretty simple: “go to one-copper.com for free tips & tricks on how to make gold in WoW. Now with a 1-80 Gold guide”.
Yet people are stupid and lazy.
“A person is smart, people are dumb. ”
-(Look it up who said that)
So I got my 140K (after selling everything) and transferred my little peewee lvl11 bank alt to another server, so he can stay there in peace, waiting for my main’s when I’m transferring servers.
This means though that I’m left with 3 level 80s, no farming professions and a mere 5K gold… Sounds interesting for the blog right?
Being popular is always great when you get good attention (yesterdays post, intelligent whispers, comments) but it’s a nightmare when you get the flip side of it. (GGGG PL0X, trolls)
It’s wonderful if you see that you inspire, 500 people each day (or at least give them something to read) and it’s annoying when you have to delete troll comments.
So here we are at the brink of discussion…
Has being a “popular” (Not saying I am, cause I’m not, but maybe you are) blogger had any impact on your “WoW-life”, and if so a good one? or a bad one? Has it affected your gold making schemes? (I’m getting a lot of resistance from a “cartel” thats trying to bankrupt me, too bad they were losing)
Write something up and let us know! I’m dieing to see your point of view on this!
PS: B2B guide coming later this week!

Holy hell… seriously holy frigging hell.
I thought this day would never come.
Let’s start at the beginning right?
As every monday morning, I go over my blogroll, when I reached Phase 3: Profit! I saw that WoW.com had listed a “Recources” page with an “economy” Section. tbh, I never knew that there was one… Was it ever advertised? No idea, I’ll look into it.
I send in a request to WoW.com several times to include this site in one of their “daily link posts”.
Never had an awnser, not on good ones, not on bad ones. Some readers have asked to include the First issue of B2B in one of the link posts. They never got an awnser… So yeah, I thought that they were ignoring the Gold bloggers, ’cause of that old escapade JM2C had with them.
So I started reading, and opened the link, to see who was actually listed. And to my suprise…. One-Copper was listed… Seriously I went like WTF? In the middle of my office.
So I guess, Thank You, WOW.com.
I have no idea, if this is a “well done, we love your site” or a “it’s okaj, now stop asking for links” either way though, I can’t help it to feel a little bit proud.

From level 58 to 68 you should be leveling in Outland. And there are enough money-making opportunities here to go over them separately. So here comes the good stuff:
General
-lvl 58-60 gear should be sold at the AH. They fetch a good price, since they are 3x more powerful as the old stuff.
- All meat, fish, white tradegoods should be sold at the AH. meat from Outlands easily goes for 50G a stack, and you are killing mobs to level anyway.
Professions
First and foremost, get lil’ sparky’s workshop. Seriously get it. It displays if the mats are worth more then the item you make. Outlandish mats are word a shizzleload of money. But so are the crafted stuff. So be sure you don’t lose money on crafting worthless garbage.
- Leather goes for a great price, so only use what you need to get through the skillpoints, sell the rest on the AH
- Engineers can extract motes in outland: do it do it do it! it’s the firsttime that you can make a killing!
——————————–
Motes sell high but slow!
——————————–
- Blacksmiths: be aware! Be sure that the ore isn’t worth more then the bars before you smelt them!
- Jewelcrafters: sad but true, try and not prospect the ore! again only prospect if it’s needed to get trough your skillpoints. the gems are practically worthless, the greens sell low and slow, and the blues sell high and real sllooo-oow.
-Tailors: again be sure to make profit and check the price!
-Enchanters: oh my this is a dream for you guys, you can almost disenchant anything here and make a killing. Well almost anything. Do note that the mats sell quick and slow at the same time. If someone is leveling enchanting all of your mats will be bought up fairly fast, but if no-one is leveling it, it can go very slow.
- Alchemists: sorry to say but you are screwed royally. Again this only use the herbs needed to blaze through the skilllvls, and sell the rest. Potions don’t sell, they can be bought from faction-vendors.
- Inscriptioners, well glyphs sell on every level I guess.
Farming top 4
Hellfire pens: ore, cloth and boar meat and can be farmed like crazy
Nangrand: Leather, herbs and meat come in high quantities here.
Blade edge: ore and cloth are perfect wins
Zangar marsh: herbs, herbs and herbs are abundant.
I’m stopping here, I feel that I really missed something, but I’m running a fever and am at work, so tbh I really can’t go on.
If you see stuff I missed, let me know and I’ll add it tomorrow.

So the weekend has past and I’m sick of wow… Ok that’s a lie… I’m sick of healing… nope not correct either… I’m sick of the lfgtool. Yes! That’s it! I’m sick of the lfg tool. It’s a great tool but there are some flaws, – serious flaws – in the system.
1 – retri palas and arms warriors think they can tank… oh yeah.. <3 healing those... they take a painload of damage (no shield, or prot talents), the aggro is out of control, (most of the time i'm healing the highest dps instead of the "tank") and they really think they are right of doing that. Now this is on my lvl33 resto druid, so granted its not that bad. I rejuv everyone and do a regrowth on the "tank" and we survive. But remains annoying. Also the LFG just hates me... really hates me. I did SM graveyard 12(!) times in a mere 2 hours on saturday... that's a bit much...
ooh well, enough ranting, since lfg is actually an improvement over the old system, even if it sais: "you're the healer? oki then, let's screw you over with a dps two-hand swordwielding, spirit-leather wearing retri paladin hahahahahahaha!"
Today I introduce a new blogger: CK, he’s a faithfull reader of the blog, has a brain, and now a blog! It isn’t bad at all, and if e keeps it up, it will go in my blogroll. Just have a look and let us know what you think!
This is it for now though, I really need some aspirin… the hang-over is a bad one this week.
Edit: for everyone that uses lfg. Don’t come complaining if you don’t get healed!

These days the link friday seems obsolete. Most of the blogs that I read and that are gold centered are at the right side in the link collumn. And linking the blogs that I do read and aren’t there is useless, since they aren’t what you came here for. (druid/shaman/warlock blogs)
Since I don’t want to link the same blogs over and over, I’m looking for a blogger, or some guest posts. Here are the require
Guest post:
-has to be Gold related
-links in the post to your own blog are of course accepted, and even welcomed.
Weekly Post (fellow blogger):
-Gold, economical or social/psychological related posts
- once a week
- links in the post to your own blog are of course accepted, and even welcomed.
Or maybe… just maybe… I could start up Group Therapy again…
I would really love this, and if anyone shares this though: let me know!
Any new ideas for segments from you, the constant reader, are of course appreciated!
And last but certainly not least, One-Copper is getting quite old, I’ll reach the 1 year anniversary soon, If there is anyone here that has been reading from way back then, shoot me a mail, and I would love to do a written interview.
Watch your gold pile now, It will grow larger every time you read one-copper.com…. I hope

Since “the Junkyard” isn’t always usefull, I’m going to switch around “the Junkyard” with “Cataclysm Preparations”
So I’ll inform you of what I’m doing to get my money when Cataclysm comes out!
TSB has been set up a few weeks ago, and we’ve been in ICC twice right now. Since TSB is still new, and we are recruiting inexperienced raiders. Why Inexperienced? If we show them the ropes and gear them, they will have a greater sense of “loyalty”.
Why am I doing this? Why am I starting so slow with the guild? — only first 4 bosses down –
Easy… the Cataclysm guild changes. If we set up a “loyal” and “smart” core team now, it will help us then. I don’t mind learning ppl how to play for a month orso if we can take the fruits of our labor when it’s going to matter. Now this isn’t really gold related so let’s get that in here too.
So the golden preparations for Cataclysm.. yep here they come… yes, yes golden info here….
…
Sorry I was just having some fun here with leaving you all hanging… I need to get it somewhere right?
No but seriously now, I haven’t been playing a lot these days, but the time I have been playing i’m leveling my new druid. (lvl26) and against my own style I took Herbalism and Skinning as my professions.
When Cata comes out, a lot of people will be rolling Worgen/goblins.
I suspect after the first week has passed, and the speedlevelers are 85 we will see an increase in the demand of lowlevel materials. So I’m stocking up all herbs/leather from 1-40, and later on from 40-80. I don’t think the price will skyrocket, but I do think that all those materials will sell quickly if not expensive.
As I’ve said before I don’t like 2 gather proffesions for the time it takes away from leveling.
duration of leveling == 100% time needed
leveling with 2 gather prof == 100% + 20%
leveling with instances as tank/healer == 90%
with heirlooms == 70%
so if I level a healer in instances with heirlooms I should be able to level 30% faster then normal. Yet this is impossble due to the farming (which can’t be done well in instances)
So let’s say I still lose about 1/5 of my time gathering this and that. Yet this is worth the time, as the mats are sure sells. And with some luck sure sells for 200%-300% of their value.
oh well I’ll close up here before I’m going to start typing that makes no sense at all.

Wednesday is the day I bend my mind over nasty things. or at least it was the day before all the misery happened and the blog went on hold for a month. Sorry again, I can’t apologize enough for that month of loneliness…
Today I’m not writing something up myself however….
Trees can think!!! seriously they have thoughts… no I’m not going crazy…fine don’t believe me?
read this: Tree of life
Told you trees could think!
Now Keredria put my own thoughts on paper better then I could have.
So enjoy her post.
Edit: also look at Zekta’s post over at Phase 3 Profit! Really agree with him there.
