Chapter 6:Back to Basics: 40-58

Tags:

And here we are again with a new installment of the Back to Basics guide!

Before we are going to jump in to the fray I’ll explain whats comming next:
an Auctioneer video, lvls 58-68, 68-79 and 80. An indepth look at 80, addons, farmspots, leveling proffesions in the right way, the AH battleground etc etc. so more is comming!

Enough chit-chat… let’s get it on!

40-58 is a miners wet dream. prepare to get somewhere between 50 and 200gold for each stack of ore, 10G for your stone and 25+ for each gem. mine everything you come across while you don’t lose too much time, is an easy way to make 1K+ money before you get to 60 and while you aren’t even thinking about it. Herbalism is as always some nice gold at the side, though it isn’t as good as mining. Gromsblood sells for quite a lot of money though, just put them in stacks of 1 or 2 on the AH.
NOTE: Gromsblood is a drop from mobs!
The price of leather also goes up again and thick leather/hides can be sold for about 25-125gold a stack. (depending on server)

The REAL money comes in from gear though. You heard me! stop dissenchanting the greens guys and lads. because at level 40 shamans and Hunters get to wear mail, and warriors and paladins go for Plate. So each peice of mail/plate you find/craft that’s between the level range: 40-46ish (depends on server) needs to be put on the AH. In some cases these get bought for insane (100G+) prices. Helmet pieces do exceptionally well with a wopping 250G(!!)

If you are a dragonscale leatherworker, or a blacksmith prepare yourself for this small bit of pure profit, since it doesn’t last long.

totally out of the blue here but if you have an 80, think about boosting some lvl50′s through ST. every class gets a quest here and a lot of ppl want to pay some money for it. It ain’t much but at least it’s something if you’re bored.

The rest is pretty much the same. DE everthing that’s 50+ and dropped in azeroth, enchanting mats sell well, jc products sell well – though note that the mats are often worth more at this stage- and lw, bs and tailors draw the short straw from lvl48+.

Also DON’T buy gear at this level! since you’ll be going to Outland soon, you’ll see that the gear there outstrips your own by far.
ah well that’s it for today, short but sweet I say.

See you next time.
Same gold channel, same goldtime…
